Life hurts
You’ve managed on your own long enough.
Most people wait years before they call anyone. They tell themselves it isn’t bad enough yet, or that other people have it worse, or that it should be easier than this. See if any of these sound familiar.
- “It’s 3am again and my brain is racing.”
- “I keep ending up in the same kind of relationship, with the same ending.”
- “Nothing is wrong, exactly. I just don’t feel like myself anymore.”
- “Something happened years ago and it’s still running my life.”
- “Getting through an ordinary day takes everything I have.”
- “There’s a voice in my head that would never speak to a friend the way it speaks to me.”
If you read more than one of those and felt something land, you’re in the right place.

I understand
Reaching out is not weakness.
Healing often begins when we stop trying to handle everything alone and reaching out for support is a sign of strength.
Letting someone in can be an important step forward. You are not a burden for needing care, understanding or support.
Therapy is a collaborative process where you and the therapist work together on your goals. It is an investment in yourself and a chance to make room for growth, change and hope. Ideally, it is a place to be heard, understood, and validated; to give voice to experiences you may have carried alone.

I am here to help
Meet Stacey Stefanski
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor serving residents in the state of Missouri.
My therapeutic style is warm, collaborative and grounded in genuine human connection. I aim to create a space where clients feel safe enough to be honest, vulnerable and fully themselves - without form of judgement.
I incorporate faith and spirituality if desired.
I approach clients with empathy, curiosity and respect. I desire that clients feel heard, understood and validated. I also try to provide gentle challenges.
Humor has a place in my work. I feel laughter is good medicine.
I ask questions. I’m curious about the parts of your story you skip past. I’ll challenge you when I think you’re being harder on yourself than the facts support, and I’ll say so plainly when something you’ve described sounds like it hurt. There’s room for humor here too — hard conversations don’t have to be joyless ones.
What you won’t get from me is judgment about how long it took you to get here.

Convienient, timely mental health support when you need it. No Waitlist.
Help you can actually get to.
The hardest part of finding a therapist is often the part nobody warns you about: deciding to go, working up to the call, and then being told the next opening is a year away. By then the moment has usually passed.

Common questions
Before you book.
No. I’m licensed in Missouri, and a therapist can only work with clients who are physically located in the state where they hold a license. You need to be in Missouri during our sessions — not just have a Missouri address.
I’m in network with Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Carelon Behavioral Health, Cigna, Oscar, Oxford and UnitedHealthcare. If out-of-network, sessions are $150. I can provide a superbill to submit to your insurer for reimbursement. More on rates and insurance.
Fifty minutes. Generally, I meet with people once a week, but the level of support you need is up to you.
For the things I treat — anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions — research has repeatedly found virtual therapy works about as well as in-person. What matters far more than the format is good therapist-client fit.
If you are struggling: reaching out for support can be one, small courageous step toward feeling more like yourself again.
