Who I help

Therapy for Adults in Transition

Divorce, career change, caregiving, an empty house. For when the ground has shifted.

Does this sound like you?

Recognizing yourself here

  • “My life looks completely different than it did a year ago, and I'm still catching up to it.”
  • “I don't know who I am outside the role I just lost or left.”
  • “Everyone keeps asking how I'm adjusting. I don't have a good answer.”
  • “I chose this change, and I still feel like I'm grieving something.”
  • “I'm so busy managing the practical side of this that I haven't had space to feel any of it.”
  • “I want to feel like myself again, but I'm not sure what that even means right now.”

The work

How I approach it

Adults in the middle of a major transition often don’t need to be told the change is hard — they already know that. What they usually need is a space to actually process it, instead of just managing the logistics and pushing the feelings to the side because there's no time for them. That's most of what these sessions are for.

Whether it's a divorce, a career that ended or changed, a house that's suddenly quiet, or a caregiving role that's consumed your own life in the process, we work on two things at once: making sense of what you lost or left behind, and figuring out who you're becoming on the other side of it. Neither part gets rushed.

This page overlaps closely with life transitions counseling, which goes into more detail on how that work unfolds session to session.

If you are struggling: reaching out for support can be one, small courageous step toward feeling more like yourself again.

Life can be tough, but you don't have to go it alone. Help is available.
